And then, SURPRISE, a second contest!! We will be competing among each other to select the person who manages to keep the longest cigar ash, and the one who best performs some other tricks we will be teaching you. This is called: LONG ASH CONTEST. Interactive Bee Farm Tour
If you're looking for a specific day and time, reach out, we can often accommodate schedule changes. See a working bee farm in action. Prime Bees is a farm-based out of Bryan/College Station. Our honey bees pollinate crops and collect forage from land throughout the Brazos County. At our bee farm, we extract and bottle honey, make honey products, render beeswax and make wax products, build equipment, educate beekeepers, and host educational, agritourism events. You'll likely be greeted by our corgis as you arrive at the farm. We'll wave, chat a bit, and once everybody arrives, we'll talk about the farm, what we do, fascinating things about bees, and then we'll select some protective gear for your hive visit. We'll walk out to the learning apiary to see an assortment of hive types and weather permitting, open some beehives. You may even throw some seeds out on your way out to the bees to plant more flowers for the bees throughout the years. You'll get to hear, smell, touch, and experience the equipment and what it is like to be a beekeeper. Our beekeepers are excited to share their experience and love for bees with you. We will take photos and videos to share with you as well so you can share this unique experience with friends and family.
Uncover Old Havana's heritage with young Cubans
If you are visiting Cuba, you cannot leave without walking the streets of Old Havana, the majestic, somewhat irreverent, and beautifully decadent historic heart of the city. Walk the streets of Old Havana, see for yourself how the past and the present unite in this living and lively city and embrace the Habanero spirit. This experience will take you through the most important sites of the historic quartier including worldwide recognized spots and some hidden alleyways visitors frequently miss. We will reconstruct Cuba history through observing the architecture of Old Havana, discovering the life that lies in every stone. We will dissect the evolution of the city as a commercial enclave, the political and religious centre of the colonial country, and an unmatched cultural hub. Each point of interest will help us link the past with the socioeconomic realities of the present. We will start the experience at Arms Square (Plaza de Armas), Havana´s foundational place. From there, we will follow the development of the city paying attention to the artistic and architectural styles that converge in this example of Latin-American Baroque. Colonial, Mudejar, Baroque, Art Deco and Neoclassical buildings will be covered during the experience. Each exemplar will tell us its own tale and help us unravel the history of a city that dances at a unique rhythm.
Follow a historian through Havana
I propose a walk with a historian and lecturer of the University of Havana. You will discover the history of a city with 500 years of antiquity. You will learn the history of Havana in the places where the events occurred. You will be an active part of the apprenticeship since you can choose the topics that interest you the most: indigenous population, colonial society, slavery, religiosity, independence wars, Cuban Revolution, etc. In short, the history of a nation at a glance. Other things to note It is necessary to be able to walk long distances. The experience is subject to weather conditions.
